The office lighting for the new administration building responds to our differentiated expectations of light and guarantees a functioning perception of light. The selected light source was the halogen bulb 100 W/12 V with the required continuous spectrum. During the day, if supplementary lighting is necessary, the halogen bulb is operated with 100% of the nominal voltage (light colour approx. 3200 K yellow-white). The luminous intensity adjusts to approx. 450 lux. As dusk falls, an external light sensor regulates the voltage from 100% to approx. 90% in a period of approx. 20 seconds; the light colour shifts towards a warm shade of approx. 2800 K. The luminous intensity adjusts to approx. 360 lux. The electrical connection wattage is approx. 18.5 W/m². The lamp is based on the principle of secondary radiation; the light source is housed in a pendant head reflector and reflects the light both upwards and downwards. 80% of the luminous flux are radiated via the main reflector and 20% straight down into the room. The main reflector, with a diameter of 600 mm, spreads the luminous flux over a large surface, thus greatly reducing the luminance.
